Terence Crawford didn’t waste any time before praising Oleksandr Usyk for his incredible victory against Tyson Fury. After winning the bout, Usyk gained the WBC title to go along with the WBA, IBD, and WBO belts he already owned. Following the victory, Crawford took to X and shared his thoughts on the iconic event.

In the tweet, Terence Crawford urged fight fans to reevaluate the amount of respect for Oleksandr Usyk and his achievements. According to the American, Usyk is leading the race for the pound-for-pound number one boxer in the world. Here’s what Crawford wrote;

Man yall better put some respect on @usykaa man. He definitely a candidate for #1 P4P fighter in the world. I’m no hater. He beat the man that beat the man in a bigger division, giving what he’s already done. Salute brother! Terence Crawford via X

Following the victory, Usyk improved his unbeaten record to 22 wins, out of which 14 came via knockout. On the other hand, Fury suffered his first-ever professional loss after 34 victories and one draw. Notably, Fury wasn’t satisfied with the decision and claimed that he won the fight. The Brit even blamed the Ukraine war for fans and judges sympathizing with Usyk.

Usyk was overwhelmed with emotion and couldn’t control his tears following this win. The war in his native Ukraine has been ongoing for a few years, and he has made many personal sacrifices to follow his boxing goals. Surely, a multi-division champion like Terence Crawford would understand it more than anybody else.
